1)       Oversee RSW installation crews and install /configure network equipment at Google HUT’s and Co-locations in and around Kansas City, MO. Perform site surveys for network equipment to be installed at customers’ sites such as Central Office, HUT, ROW sites, and Co-locations.

2)       Perform EDP or Workorder amendments and document manipulation to include: Corrections on Cable Running List,  Equipment port audits, As-Built redlined documentation

3)       Provide TIER2 support for Google Engineers as onsite hands and remote configurations.

Network Engineer – ITG a contractor for: Sprint

Kansas City, MO05/15 – 10/15

Responsible for remote configuration and implementation of new Aruba network equipment and network IP conversion of all 1000+ Sprint Retail stores nationwide. Use various application tools like Aruba Airwave, Secure CRT, InfloBox DNS /DHCP, NetScanner, Service Manager, ACS /TACACS. Executed static IP reassignments and recorded confirmation.  Worked with CSA technicians that were onsite to convert all new and existing equipment to new and  IEEE 802.11 wireless standards as well as network IP settings and parameters.  Performed trouble isolation and resolve on network problems associated with equipment and network conversions that were being /had been completed. 1)       Create Engineering Design Packages (EDP’s) and Method of Procedure (MOP’s) for network equipment to be installed at customers’ sites such as Central Office, Hubs, ROW sites, and Co-locations.

2)       Perform site surveys for network equipment to be installed at customers’ sites such as Central Office, Hubs, ROW sites, and Co-locations.

3)       Lead, manage crews of 4-5 team members /multiple teams during RSW installation of POD, Arris E6000 and C4 platforms and engage day-to-day resolution to arising issues during RSW process.

4)       Performance bandwidth management testing on Arris E6000 and Arris C4 RF MUX /edge routers.  Commissioned system, then loaded system images and running configuration scripts.  Using modems and Digital Service cable boxes execute routing testing, ADSG, RIP, and fail-over testing as well as upstream and downstream power /speed testing.  Perform network and service cutover sequences from old to newly installed equipment during overnight maintenance window.

Install fiber duct and pathways.  Use of Brady label system.  Responsible for fiber optic cable characterization and BER testing using EXFO optical test equipment.  Installation of high speed Fiber Optic transmission equipment and cables, EF&I Test, and Turn-Up of Infinera XTC, DTC, and OTC platform equipment,  Integration,  Balancing /Testing of DWDM OC circuits, Perform Change Management orders, communicating daily reports with PM’s and NOC.  Provision /Commission system parameters using software tools and testing at capacity of installed circuits.  Redlines, Audits, and EF&I documentation.

 

Network Analyst /Transport Tech 2 – YOH a contractor for:  CenturyLink

Gardner, KS01/13 – 10/13

Responsible for maintenance on Century Link  DWDM Transport optical networks.  Use various application tools like NMA Graphics, Access Care, TTi, Tellineuim, MegaSys, Remedy, & OTTO to create trouble tickets which summarizes customer repair issues on Optical Transport equipment. Performed trouble isolation and resolution on customer reported problems associated with the service reporting the problem such as T1, DS3, OC3, OC12, OC48, OC192 circuits. Dallas, TX06/12 – 01/13

Responsible for Field Engineering /Installation of Cisco 15454 MSTP RTN DWDM network upgrade for TWC in CA, OH, and KY and RCN in NYC. Responsible for OTDR testing and optical fiber characterization exercises of network nodes in the TWC  OH & KY market.  RSW of Cisco 15454 MSTP optical transport chassis, Cisco MD-40 fiber MUX chassis, and transponder equipment.  Termination of -48V DC power cables and execution of power-up sequence during overnight maintenance windows.  Provisioning of customer set parameters and Test-Turn up of all units.  Delivery of logged, redlined, and signed documentation.

 

Network Field Engineer/ Tester – CSS Corp /Glow Networks

Kansas City, MO03/12 – 06/12

1)       Lead FSE for installation, engineering, and testing of ITS Aruba Second Generation Wireless LAN at Whiteman AFB USA.  Installation included:  Assemble, mount, and test new Aruba AP105 and AP85 RF wireless antennas.  Installed inside and outside aircraft hangars and administration buildings with use of Genie/ JLG boom lift.  Created pathways for cabling from MDF/ COM rooms to devices using conduit, building structure, and J-hooks.  Terminated CAT6 and installed rack mount POE equipment.  Configured existing Cisco 3950G switches /ports for all newly installed equipment.  Configured newly installed Aruba WAP devices and performed SAT / speed coverage testing and overlap verification utilizing Fluke Air-Magnet test software with spectrum analyzer. 

2)       Responsible for Field Engineering and installation of CIENA OME 6500 equipment for Verizon Wireless in MO, KS, AR, and TX markets. Knoxville, TN10/08 – 04/11

Implemented and supported local area and wide area networks within the US Cellular organization Data Center environment.  Provided EF&I Test, and Turn-Up service for telecom systems / rack and stack applications in Central Office, Data Center, and MTSO environments.  Installed structured cabling, racks, overhead support, and Fiber duct. Executed troubleshooting, testing, and provisioning on installed routers, switches, firewalls, and optical equipment to include: Cisco 12000 GSR, ASR 1000, Cisco 6500, 3550, 2960 switches, Cisco ONS 15454, Ciena 6500 & 4200, and Juniper 480 & 960 product line.  Worked with Operations and Network Security department to push new network images and updates through to US Cellular network equipment and implemented secure VPN’s for individual users and /or departments.
